EC DAY EVALUATION

The European Interact programme promotes every year the European Cooperation Day, a set of events throughout the European Union to celebrate the day of cooperation between European regions. As part of its activity, Interact produces an evaluation report of this activity.

Interact wanted to improve the design of the evaluation report, as both its content and format made it unattractive (over 40 pages), which meant that it was of little interest to the target audience.

In 2018, we were commissioned to redesign the EC Day evaluation report, not only in its graphic design, but also in terms of content.

DATA ANALYSIS AND THE BRIEFING. KNOWING ALL THE POINTS OF A PROJECT HELPS TO HAVE A COMPLETE PERSPECTIVE.

After talking to the people in charge of the report and discussing what the objective of the evaluation was, we decided to design a survey addressed to the event organisers to collect quantitative and qualitative information to generate a new approach to the report.

After receiving the results of the online survey, we analysed them and generated the contents of the report itself. Unlike the old version, these contents were more synthetic, clearer and with direct messages.

Another feature of the new report that had agreed with Interact was that it should be shorter in length.

DESIGN PHASE. THE PROJECT TOOK SHAPE AND WE TURNED THE INFORMATION INTO A VISUAL SYSTEM.

Once the contents are ready, we started the graphic design phase of the report. From the beginning, it was clear to us that the approach had to be eminently visual, that is, the graphic element had to stand out on each page, accompanied by a headline or message and with other supporting texts.

In this way, we designed what we, at Dataly, call an infographic report; a format whose purpose is to communicate data and results in a visual and attractive way.

SINCE 2018, WE HAVE CONTINUED TO PRODUCE THE EVALUATION REPORT ON BEHALF OF INTERACT.
