SICCRED, THE SOCIAL IMPACT OF CULTURE AND CREATIVITY

This project consisted of an interactive visualisation of the results of SICCRED, a databank that measures the social impact of culture and creativity at European level. This observatory has been developed in the framework of the European MESOC project designed to propose, test
and validate an innovative and original approach to measure the social value and impacts of culture and cultural policies related to three cross-cutting themes of the new European Agenda for Culture:

1) Health and Well-being
2) Urban and Territorial Renewal
3) Citizen Engagement and Participation

The model will be tested in 11 European pilot cities: Athens, Barcelona, Cluj-Napoca, Ghent, Issy-les-Moulineaux, Jerez de la Frontera, Lublin, Milan, Rijeka, Turku and Valencia.

The visualisation shows the impact of increasing the number of workers in the cultural and creative sector on social welfare, across eleven dimensions and for each of Europe’s regions.
